| Description In its 4th showing, Galeria 346 presents the works of Thai artist Kwanchai Lichaikul, a recent graduate of Silpakorn University. 11 works will be shown in a preview party at Cy’an, at The Metropolitan Hotel Bangkok, on Tuesday 20th 6-8pm. The works are show till the evening of the 21st. This is followed by an exhibition at Galeria 346, in Phuket 346 - Phuket, for a period of 3 months, with the opening reception on Saturday 24th 6-8pm. In view of the artworks, the skill, extraordinary patience and perseverance becomes all too evident. A student of Buddhist art, the link to templar mural paintings is also clear. According to the artist, the artworks are inspired by today’s society and community, which consists of various people with different ways of life. People live in the uncertainties created by the economy, society, politics, religion, environment and culture, which are all intertwined. Society is presented through a bird’s eye view, showing groups of people, animals, buildings, houses, roads and other structures. The artist presents these as a story, combining it with his dreams, imagination and personal point of view, and portraying them in his vision of a fantastic city. |
